Everyone started cheering when the 200,000th truck built at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Aksaray rolled off the assembly line. The Aksaray plant is an important component of the Mercedes-Benz Trucks production network.
Turkey is the third-largest sales market for Mercedes-Benz Trucks after Brazil and Germany and only in 2013, Mercedes-Benz Trucks handed about 17,000 units to customers.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks is the market leader in the heavy-duty truck segment in Turkey

The milestone we’re celebrating today underscores that fact: 200,000 trucks –that also means 200,000 vehicles in top Mercedes-Benz quality thanks to our highly qualified and dedicated employees. Mercedes-Benz has invested about 310 million euro in the Aksaray plant since 1986. Recently, 20 million euro were spent to build a new production hall that will increase with 10, 000 sqm the plant’s production area and also the overall production capacity up to 17,500 units.
Mercedes-Benz Trucks is the market leader in the heavy-duty truck segment in Turkey
Mercedes-Benz Türk was established in Istanbul in 1967. In 1986, the Aksaray plant launched production of trucks. Today, the plant manufactures Actros, Axor, and Atego trucks using state-of-the-art production systems. Most of the trucks it builds are sold in Turkey. The Aksaray plant currently occupies an area of 560,000 sqm. The facility has been certified in accordance with the stringent ISO environmental-protection standard since 2003. The Aksaray plant currently employs approximately 1,700 people and it is located 230 km southeast of the Turkish capital Ankara.
