No, it’s not Bruce Wayne driving this four-wheel monster on the empty roads of Gotham City. The residents of Mumbai, India got a chance to see with their own eyes this Batmobile replica based on a Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

It is still a replica designed to look like the original car used in Tim Burton’s movie – Batman Returns. This Batmobile replica was built by Executive Modcar Trendz tuners in Mumbai, India. It is same company that built the Ferrari F430 replicas using a Toyota Corolla. The original Batmobile from 1992 was built on a Chevrolet Impala chassis, but the Indian tuners built it on a Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Sadly, we have no specifications of the car, at least for the moment, nor the exact S-Class version that it’s based on, but we have to admit that it looks truly imposing. The original movie care measured 260.7 inches in length (meaning 6.62 meters), 94.4 inches width  (2.3 meters) and 51.2 inches (1.3 meters) in height. The wheelbase measures 141 inches (3.5 meters) with 15 inch alloy wheels.

At least in theory, the original movie car uses a jet turbine fed with high octane gasoline and it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 531 km/h.

This may be the most affordable version of the Batmobile, if we were to compare it to the original 1963 car that was sold for almost $137,000 at an auction that took place recently. We must admit that the replica is very similar to the original car in terms of looks and size.
