This is the car that Mercedes-Benz chose to keep a secret until its reveal in Paris. The company’s premium MPV brings more space, better aerodynamics, sportier proportions and, of course, the Mercedes’ proud and joy: the MBUX infotainment system. Our editor, Răzvan Măgureanu, is sending us the latest details and photos from the Paris Motor Show.
The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class gets a 33-millimeter wider dimension at at 1.456 millimeters, for extra elbow space, and a 90-millimeter higher driving position than in the A-Class, for extra visibility.
A virtue of the model, space, is also emphasized by the boot with generous volume (from from 455 to 705 liters, with the sliding rear seats, available from mid-2019). Mercedes will also offer the option of folding the backrest of the front passenger seat to allow loading long items.
Five engines are available in the B-Class family, with two diesels and three gasoline-powered variants. The B 220 with 190 horsepower and the newly developed 8G-DCT dual clutch automatic transmission stands at the top of the range.
Safety features borrowed from the luxury S-Class sedan are also making the B one of the safest vehicles in its class.
The new Mercedes-Benz B-Class will reach customers starting February 2019. Before that happens, check out our presentation on the new premium MPV right here:
