Ahead of the 2018 Paris Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz reveals its latest SUV, the new Mercedes-Benz GLE. Just 400 lucky guests witnessed the world premiere of the car at the “Meet Mercedes” event, that took place at the Hotel Molitor.
“21 years ago, we founded the premium SUV segment with the M-Class. Since then, the importance of these models has continuously increased – not only for us, but also for the whole industry,” says Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales.
Packed with the latest technology developed by the company, the new Mercedes-Benz GLE features a 48-Volt E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL active suspension and the Active Tailback Assist, that provides the driver with a helping hand in traffic jams.
Mercedes has fitted its SUV with more space and an optional third row of seats for the first time, but also with one of the most advanced infotainment systems currently on the market, the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), now capable of recognizing hand movements and differentiate the driver’s gestures from those of the passenger’s.
At the iconic swimming pool that has been converted into a luxury hotel four years ago, journalists could check out the aggressive look of the new Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC, the charismatic smart forease concept car and the first member of the EQ family, the EQC crossover. Tomorrow is the big day for the B-Class MPV, the last to be shown in Paris by the three-pointed star premium car company.
