Brabus, the tuning house of international fame, has revealed an encompassing package for the estate version of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class in AMG Line spec. But don’t get too excited: it’s not the sort of crazy things we’ve been treated with by Brabus lately.
It’s not crazy-crazy, but it’s still pretty crazy. Just pay attention to the way it looks: Brabus has added a more aggressive front spoiler painted in titanium gray, coupled with a diffuser like insert on the rear spoiler. Also at the back, the Brabus package bestows the C-Class AMG Line estate with a quad sports exhaust system and chromed tailpipes. Discreet? I don’t think so…
The wheels, too, are rather shouty: they’re 20 inch Monoblock F cross-spoke rims wrapped in 225/35/20 tires at the front and 255/35/20 at the back.
If you look at the images and feel this C-Class AMG Line estate is lower than usual, then you’re right. It uses a special suspension setup co-developed with Bilstein (those who’re into dampers know who these guys are) which lowers the car with 30 mm compared with the standard version. It also offers the ability to adjust the settings and it’s fully compatible with cars equipped with the Mercedes-Benz AIRMATIC pneumatic suspension.
Since it’s Brabus we’re talking about, there’s also a bump in engine power. It’s not as spectacular as you’d be inclined to expect, but an increase is an increase no matter how you look at it:
- 21 HP (15 kW) & 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) for C 180;
- 41 HP (30 kW) & 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) for C 200;
- 34 HP (25 kW) and 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) for C 250;
- 35 HP (26 kW) & 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) for C 220 BlueTEC;
- 31 HP (22 kW) & 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) for C 250 BlueTEC.
The interior will also become unmistakably Brabus, with velour floor mats, aluminium pedals, a custom speedometer with gages up to 340 km/h and a large selection of leather and alcantara colors. No info on the prices, though, so there’s still a little mystery.
