We all know and apreciate the hard and efficient work put up by Mercedes-Benz when it comes to new models, but the latest wave of spy-photos got everyone excited. And now, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class cabrio joined the game.
Mercedes-Benz has big plans with its new C-Class and along with the C-Class coupe announced for November 2015, Mercedes is also working on a cabrio version of the C-Class.
If you don’t want to take our word for it, just take a closer look at the spy-photos we gathered in the media gallery. Probably feeling a bit left out after the Mercedes CLK was replaced by the E-Class cabrio, the C-Class is set to receive its own convertible version in a couple of months.
As this move might come as a surprise for some, we want to remind you that Mercedes-Benz is reportedly planning to introduce 19 new models between now and 2020. While some of those will be in fact just refreshed versions for the already existing models, eleven models are slated to extend Mercedes’ long arms to new segments.
The C-Class cabrio prototype pictured here was seen for the first time testing on public roads, near the famous Nurburgring circuit. AFter its official launch as a production model, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet will rival the likes Audi A3 cabrio and BMW 2 Series cabrio.
The territory was partially covered, albeit in larger form, with the previous CLK cabrio, but that was effectively replaced by the E-Class convertible that’s closer in size to the Audi A5 or BMW 6 Series.
If the reports prove accurate, sources rightfully expect the C-Class cabriolet to be the cheapest convertible Mercedes would offer, undercutting the price of the base SLK roadster.
