Mercedes C-Class – One of the Seven Finalists of the European “Car of the year”

CotY Organizing Committee announced the finalists of the prestigious European Car of the Year awards and one of the seven finalists is the new Mercedes C-Class. 

As by the end of every year, CotY Organizing Committee announced the finalists for the prestigious European Car of the Year awards.

From 33 cars selected in July, the jury chose seven cars for the big final.

The big winner will be announced the day before the press days of the 2015 Geneva Motorshow , at the beginning of March 2015, by the jury consisting of 58 expert journalists.

The last two winners were Peugeot 308 in 2014 and VW Golf in 2013.

The Car of the Year jury bore some changes this year.

The Swedish Jan-Erik Berggren from Expressen  replaced Lasse Holmstrom, who left the jury for age reasons.

Holger Appel, from Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, is a new member of the jury.

Stephane Meunier, editor in chief of L’Automobile Magazine, replaced Francois Monsenergue, who had been a member of the jury for 26 years.

Also from France, Jean Michael Normand, from le Monde, replaced Jacques Chevalier, who retired for age reasons.

Matthew Prior from Autocar will replace Steve Cropley. who had represented Autocar magazine in the jury, for 19 years.

The president of Organizing Committee for Car of the Year 2015 is Wibke Burns and she represents “stern” magazine, one of the publications who support this contest.

Ford Mondeo 

Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Nissan Qashqai

Renault Twingo
