The Dubai Police force is one hell of a car collection. Exotic? Luxurious? Expensive? You name it, it’s already there! The arrival of the electric Mercedes EQG in the U.A.E. police fleet is only a matter of time.
The only limit is time, actually. The Dubai policemen still have to wait until they get their hands on the electric variant of the G-Class. Mercedes only revealed a concept previewing the series production model at the IAA 2021 last month in Munich, Germany. It won’t be until 2024 the zero-emission off-roader will hit the showrooms across the world and the streets of Dubai.
But for those who can’t wait, SRK Designs social media account has already posted images of what seems to be a high-ride police car. The United Arab Emirates, like all countries around the globe, will have to try a more sustainable approach to transportation. Lowering emissions level is the way to go for them as well. Meanwhile, the U.S. Government and the European Commission have imposed stricter rules on new cars and have restricted the access of pollutant ones in various cities.
Since this is only a digital render, the EQG is currently fighting only digital crime.
Future Mercedes EQG will be ready to rumble in 2024
The Mercedes EQG will only come to the market in 2024. Probably one of the first units to roll off the assembly line in Magna Steyr will go straight to Dubai.
The police car inspired by the concept sports the round LED headlights. They flank the illuminated closed grille, surrounded by an illuminated frame.
The wheel case in the rear integrates the charging port of the electric Mercedes EQG.
The future zero-emission off-roader will most likely carry over the powertrain variants of the EQS luxury sedan. There should thus be an EQG 580 with 523 horsepower and 855 Nm of torque and the entry-level EQG 560.
