Escorted by two Mercedes EQS, the Mercedes Vision ATVR concept rolled down Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles to preview the Avatar franchise’s second series, entitled “The Way of Water”.

Mercedes shared several videos on Instagram featuring the Mercedes Vision ATVR concept, inspired by the Avatar franchise and developed by Mercedes designers in cooperation with Avatar production team Lightstorm Entertainment, as the central hero.
Escorted by an impressive squadron of police cars and motorcycles or two Mercedes EQS, the Mercedes Vision ATVR rolled down Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles to herald the premiere of the second series of the Avatar franchise, “The Way of Water”.

Vision ATVR, short for Advanced Vehicle Transformation, combines bionic design with state-of-the-art technology. Its design fits perfectly with the atmosphere and philosophy of the Avatar series, and we can’t wait to see it in the second series, which will be released in cinemas on 16 December 2022.

Thirty-three bionic flaps on the back of the vehicle can communicate with the outside world – with and through the driver – using naturally flowing movements in subtle gestures.

Instead of a steering wheel, the Vision ATVR has a multi-functional control element on the center console. When passengers touch the control element with their hands, the interior comes to life, and the car recognizes them by the intensity of their pulse. Likewise, when the user lifts their hand, the intelligent system projects a selection of menus in the palm of their hand, allowing them to choose between different functions intuitively.

The Mercedes ATVR Vision is a working concept and can see rolling down Los Angeles boulevard. However, Mercedes did not give any details about the powertrain. But we’d like to think that the ATVR Vision uses the incredibly efficient powertrain of the Mercedes EQXX concept.

The Avatar series, released in 2009, is produced by 120th Century Fox under the direction of James Cameron and is the most successful franchise in history with record revenue of over $2.7 billion and three Academy Awards.

The film tells the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children) and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, and Kate Winslet.

Mercedes marketing certainly works perfectly. Partnerships with famous franchises have contributed to colossal image capital. Mercedes was also named The best brand in the car industry last year, ranking 8th in the Top 100 brands.

Mercedes has also collaborated with the makers of the Jurassic Park franchise. The first generation Mercedes ML debuted hidden under camouflage in the first series, The Lost World: Jurassic park (1997), and the Mercedes-AMG GLE 450 4Matic and Mercedes G-Class facelift were cast in Jurassic World (2015).
