It has already been 1000 days since Michael Schumacher’s nightmare began with a horror crash in the French Alps, while he was skiing. The former Ferrari and Mereds-AMG Petronas driver is still unable to speak and walk, his lawyers say. The family is though keeping his health condition under wraps.

Rumours that the 7-time world champion is able to walk again have been slammed by Schumacher family, who is suing the German magazine Bunte that published the information, quoting an anonymous friend of Michael: ”He is very thin, but he can make a few steps with the help of the therapists and can raise an arm”, was the statement that got Schumacher’s wife furious.

The statement was described as “irresponsible” by Schumacher’s manager Sabine Kehm. “Unfortunately, we are forced by a recent press report to clarify that the assertion that Michael could move again is not true,” she said. “Such speculation is irresponsible because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people.”

A video of the most unforgettable moments of Michael Schumacher’s career on the racetrack has gone viral, as the champion’s fans are recalling the terrible accident from one thousand days ago.

The first billionaire athlete’s family pays 300,000 Euros per month, to guarantee safe circumstances and round-the-clock professional care at home in Switzerland, in an especially designed care unit. Corinna Schumacher has already sold the former driver’s plane and a several cars. Mercedes-AMG is the only sponsor that has been sticking with him through his slow rehabilitation. According to Forbes magazine, Michael Schumacher earned 8 million euros just from sponsorship deals in his last year in Formula 1.

In December 2013, Michael Schumacher seriously hit his head while skiing, after his helmet cracked in three against a rock. He was immediately airlifted to a hospital nearby and placed in induced coma. After two brain surgeries, 6 months in a coma and 254 days spent in two hospitals, Schumacher was finally discharged home on September 9th, 20014.
