Prices for the new Mercedes-Benz GLE with six-cylinder diesel announced

Two diesel-powered new Mercedes-Benz GLE variants can now be ordered, three months after the official presentation of the SUV. Both of them are compliant with the 6d emissions standard and have a starting price below 70,000 Euros.

The GLE 400 d 4MATIC, with the six-cylinder OM 656 diesel engine, gets 330 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque and a starting price of 76,100.50 Euros. Meanwhile, the GLE 350 d 4MATIC, with 272 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque will start at 69,496 Euros.

The engine features a technology that integrates extended exhaust gas aftertreatment with additional underbody SCR catalytic converter, helping the nitrogen oxide emissions drop to an average of 20 milligrams per kilometer for the GLE 400 d 4MATIC.

What helps the low emissions and consumption figures is the impressive aerodynamic value, a best in class, at 0.29. The SUV with greater proportions also boasts a generous interior in terms of space, quality and ambience, but also in terms of practicality, as the second row of seats (1,428 Euros) is electrically adjustable and a third row (1,082.90 Euros) can also be fitted inside the car on request, for the first time.

The SUV also receives the futuristic MBUX system, based on artificial intelligence, now capable of recognizing hand and arm movements of the driver and of the front passenger.

The innovative E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL with a 48-Volt system-based electro-hydraulic suspension, is optionally available for 7,735 Euros, providing more comfort, precision and dynamism, but also reliability when off the tarmac. Four DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs are available onboard, but also the ROAD SURFACE SCAN and the three-stage CURVE inclination functions.

A trailer hitch costs 1,142.40 Euros and it discretely hides or shows, as it is electrically foldable and retractable. The GLE, equipped with the AIRMATIC suspension, is able to tow 3.5 tons. The driver can order the 416.50-Euro Trailer Manoeuvering Assist for further control and easier trailer operation.

The ENERGIZING Package Plus offers – for 4,075.75 Euros) brings multi-contour seats, seat climate control, a Warmth Comfort Package, the AIR-BALANCE Package with fragrancing, ionization and air-cleaning and six ENERGIZING Comfort programs.

The Driving Assistance Package costs 2,296.70 Euros, MAGIC VISION CONTROL can be ordered for 464.10 Euros, while the 13-speaker 590-Watt Burmester surround system costs 1,011.50. the Burmester 4D surround system with 25 speakers and a total system output of 1,590 W comes for 5,831 Euros.
