Zero emissions. Zero fuel consumption. Zero engine noise. That’s something that you don’t hear every day. But what if you would have to duel with it every day? This is the latest TV ad made in Stuttgart: the Mercedes-Benz B 250 e – The silent statement.
17.9–16.6 kW/100 km. These are all the figures that you would have to care about. Other than that, you don’t even need to worry about the engine noise. Cause there isn’t any.
For the holidays, Mercedes-Benz is advertising the B 250 e. The electric car starts on a mysterious night journey, leaving behind its home in the Alps and hardly making a sound. But that’s just the snow crunching under the winter tires.
A 132 kW electric motor delivering 340 Nm of torque propels the spacious compact car from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds. Its top speed is limited to 160 km/h, in order to increase its range, that – in normal driving circumstances – should reach 200 km. For a 100 km range, the Mercedes that fights the BMW i3 needs to be plugged to an electrical socket for even less than 1.5 hours.
