The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC and its coupe variant get a makeover and high-end tech. the two now come with a 3.0-liter V6 engine that goes closer to the 400-horsepower milestone.
The 3.0-liter V6 engine, that finds shelter under the hood of the new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC and of its coupe variant, benefits from 23 horsepower extra compared to the previous model, now reaching 390 horsepower and a peak torque of 520 Nm between 2500 and 4500 rpm. The unit is connected to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G automatic transmission and to the AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The car is also equipped with the AMG DYNAMICS system.
The SUVs take 4.9 seconds to run from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) and their top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.
The new AMG radiator grille with vertical slats, flanked by restyled LED High Performance headlightsand trim elements in Silver Shadow provides them with an intimidating appearance. From the side, the robust shape catches the eye for the SUV, while the SUV coupe impresses by its sleek stance. The two standardly run on 19-inch wheels, but larger wheels, up to 21 inches, may be ordered. The taillights with their horizontal layout emphasize the width and solid nature of the cars.
The interior is just as sporty as the exterior. The mid-class SUV comes with sport seats as standard, with firmer lateral support for the driver and the front passenger. The black ARTICO leather upholstery with DINAMICA microfiber feature contrasting red stitching. The striking contrast is also formed by the aluminium finish with a longitudinal grain.
The driver standardly gets the AMG steering wheel with a flattened lower section, covered in DINAMICA microfiber and perforated in the grip area. He can shift gears by using the shift paddles behind the steering wheel for a sportier drive.
The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, based on artificial intelligence, can be engaged when speaking out “Hey Mercedes”. It is capable of recognizing almost nearly all sentences from the fields of infotainment and vehicle operation, even if they are expressed indirectly.
The data is displayed on the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and on the 10.25-inch touchscreen in the center console.
The one behind the steering wheel may select one of the five driving programs available: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ și Individual. The programs are now connected to the AMG DYNAMICS system, adapting the characteristics of the vehicle to the conditions of the road or to the requirements of the driver.
The SUVs are equipped with the AMG RIDE CONTROL+, based on the AIR BODY CONTROL air suspension with Adaptive Damping PLUS. At high speeds, the cars get closer to the ground to enhance aerodynamics and stability. By a switch located in the center console, the driver can choose different settings for the dampers: Comfort, Sport or Sport+.
The new Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC, SUV and Coupe, will be displayed this fall at the Frankfurt Motor Show. First customers will get their new car delivered starting this upcoming winter.
