Mercedes-Benz Trucks has optimized the fuel consumption of the new Actros. Thus the vehicle achieves savings of up to 3% along motorways and as much as %% on rural routes. The savings are aided by the aerodynamic improvements. The truck has dropped the conventional side mirrors, replacing them with MirrorCam, as part of the standard equipment, a world premiere in the segment. This system provides a significantly improved all-round view and consists of two cameras mounted to the exterior of the vehicle and two 15-inch displays on the A-pillars inside the cab.

Now the Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC), an intelligent cruise control system, works considerably more efficiently than before and can now be used on rural routes, too, thanks to additional map data. New, fuel-saving rear axle ratios are also being deployed.

The Active Brake Assist 5, based on a combination of a radar and camera system, provides assistance to the driver in case of a potential rear-end collision or a collision with a person who is crossing in front of the vehicle, coming towards it or staying in the same lane – if required initiating maximum full braking to standstill automatically. The driver though retains full responsibility with respect to driving.

The new Mercedes-Benz Actros receives the updated Multimedia Cockpit, offering the driver a unique level of operational convenience and display comfort. Two interactive screens as standard serve as the central source of information in the driver’s digital cockpit of the future. The screens display the assistance systems, as well as basic relevant information.

The business owner can permanently monitor the truck via Fleetboard and Mercedes-Benz Uptime. The new remote-control key provided as standard helps the driver also enjoys greater ease of operation.
