Give this car a crowd and it will make it cheer! The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 dazzled in Chantilly. There was no way the 6-meter long Coupe could keep a low profile among the car enthusiasts gathered in France. The Maybach concept soon became the star of the show at this year’s Concours d’Elegance the moment it set foot (or wheel) on the exclusive lawn.

Some 50 kilometers north-east of Paris, Chateau de Chantilly is where exquisite automobiles from all over the world gather once a year to show off. At this year’s edition, the longest coupe in the world, the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 stole the limelight from the classics.

Presented as a glimpse into the future of luxury cars, the remotely controlled Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is powered by a lithium-ion battery mounted beneath the car’s floor and four compact motors driving each wheel. They get the car from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds. The extravagant concept should hit an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

The emission-free coupe with gullwing doors and vertical powerful struts in the radiator grille comes with autonomous driving capabilities. The outrageously narrow mirrors of the full 6 meters of luxury are actually rear-view cameras and are placed on the wings of the aluminium silhouette.
