We dare to start with our favorite in this race, the Mercedes-AMG GT S. We already know by heart all the tech specs of the 4.0-liter V8 heart beating under its bonnet. It roars out 510 HP and a max torque of 650 Nm, running the distance from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. All with the reliable help of a dual-clutch transmission.

One might say the fight is not even, as the Chevrolette Corvette Z06 with a manual transmission and a 6.2-liter V8 developing 650 HP. Similar figures for the engine in the Cadillac CTS-V, just that the power goes down a little bit, to 640 HP.

The Bentley GT3-R boasts with its V8 twin turbo of 591 HP worth.

world's best drag race 2There are six more cars in this race, that are not just gonna stand and watch the others having all the fun on the drag strip. The Lexus RC F, the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S, the Porsche Cayman GT4, the Volkswagen Golf R (only 292 HP for the German), the Mazda MX-5 Miata (hold on well, it only comes with 155 HP!) are going to give the big nasty cars a run for their money.

You might be wondering what in the world is the Miata in this race, in the first place. Well, Motor Trend must have a good reason for it. Maybe it was just a spare car in their parking lot. So let’s get back to real racers!

And let’s race!
