Car sales nine months of 2015: Mercedes-Benz has overtaken Audi

In the first nine months of 2015, Mercedes-Benz sold more cars than Audi: 1,376,424 units compared with 1,347,950 units for Audi.

Mercedes-Benz sold almost 30,000 cars more than Audi in the first 9 months of 2015. In September alone, Mercedes-Benz sold  188,444 cars – the best month in the company’s history, with 15.8% more than in the previous September.  In September 2015, Audi sold 170,900 cars, with 6.8% more than in September 2014.

Mercedes-Benz sold more cars than Audi in Europe in September 2015: 85,944 cars compared with 79,600 units for Audi. In the first nine months of 2015, Audi has a slight advantage with 612,650 units compared with 593,716 for Audi.

Mercedes-Benz is leader on the home market Germany in September 2015 with 23,597 units compared with 21,703 Audis, while Audi sold 208,367 units in the first nine months in Germany compared with 201,203 units in the same period for Mercedes.

In the USA, Mercedes-Benz has a clear advantage with 29,020 units sold in September 2015 and 249,890 units in the first nine months of 2015. By comparison, Audi sold 17,340 units in September 2015 in USA and a total of 147,403 units in the first nine months, with more than 100,000 less than Mercedes-Benz.

Audi is still leader on the chinese market with 53,095 units sold in September 2015 and 414,411 units in the first nine months of 2015. Mercedes-Benz sold 38,663 units in China in September 2015 and 266,287 units in the first nine months.
