Just as you were warned, the episode 1 of season 2 of „Museum Monday” went online on… Monday, under the title „About movies and dinosaurs”. The night guard at the Mercedes-Benz Museum, Uke, talks about a couple of cars that played major roles on the silver screen. Let’s see them!
“This guy behind me is almost as big of a star as I am”, says Uke, pointing to a Mercedes-Benz ML 320, manufactured in 1997. Of course, it’s not just any ML, but the one that played the leading role in “Lost World: Jurassic Park”. A V6 engine developing 218 HP and a top speed of 112 km/h (surely faster than dinosaurs) helped it get away from danger.
And then, there is the 218 HP Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 400 that showed up in the 3D “Jurassic World” last year. The 2013 T-Rex with massive tires needs the simple push of a button to adjust tire pressure. That – says Uke – makes the perfect car to get away from anything: zombies, pirates, dinosaurs. Have you seen the zombies and the pirates in “Jurassic World”? We must have missed them though.
Uke also wants to leave a legacy, something that would last through the years, just like the car inventors and film-makers. And he came up with the U130. What is the U130? Enough spoilers already, you’ll have to find this one out on your own! Enjoy episode one of “Museum Monday” season II.
