The Mercedes EQ A Concept has started the teasing march to its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, programmed to happen next week. It truly is an image to behold, as the latest photo that breaks cover shows an automobile with a sleek flowing design and sophisticated lines.
The latest image show by Mercedes of its EQ A Concept shows a three-door hatchback with an aerodynamic front fascia, that bears the illuminated grille with the centrally positioned three-pointed star, that is probably going to be specific to the EQ eco-friendly sub-brand.
The concept sports an elongated silhouette without any B-pillars, narrow greenhouse, muscular rear fenders and massive alloy wheels, highlighting its sporty DNA.
Mercedes keeps under wraps any information on the power train, but the car is probably going to be powered by an electric motor that engages the front wheels. A high-performance model might hit the market later on, featuring an extra electric motor on the rear axle and all-wheel drive.
The EQ A Concept is nothing but a preview of a future production model that is going to roll off the assembly lines of the Mercedes plant in Rastatt, Germany, no earlier than 2019. The model will join the ever-growing electric EQ family.
