The famous tennis player and business man Ion Țiriac is one of the future 275 lucky buyers of the new Mercedes-AMG Project One supercar.

On the occasion of the presentation of four exclusive Porsche models at the Țiriac Collection exhibition today – a Porsche 911 R, a Porsche 911 Exclusive Series, a Porsche 911 GT2 RS and a Porsche Carrera 4 GTS received by the leader of WTA ranking, Simona Halep, Ion Țiriac said that he will also buy a Mercedes-AMG Project One.

“Mercedes hasn’t required down payment yet. My intention was to buy two units, one for the Țiriac Collection and one  for the Țiriac Foundation, but Mercedes disagreed, so I will buy only one”, Ion Țiriac stated.

I asked him what was his opinion on the Mercedes intention to include a clause regarding the restriction on reselling the Project One for at least two years.
Țiriac said that “despite what is believed, the majority of the buyers are passionate people and do not buy the car to resell it. And if somebody wants to resell, I think there are ways to do it. One can resell the car, but keep the documents in his name for 2 years.”
