Nobody believed it when the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain was rumored and now it’s on the market. The turn has come for its smaller sibling, the C-Class, to spring an all-rounder. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain might see the light of day in three years’ time, Auto Bild claims.

Mercedes-Benz is working on refreshing its entire compact class. The company’s engineers has set eyes on the bigger brother, the C-Class and they have come to believe that an All-Terrain vehicle makes sense in the segment.

It would stand as the rival of the Audi A4 Allroad. With a wagon-style body, just like the E-Class All-Terrain, it would feature a slightly higher ground clearance, a raised adjustable suspension and plastic cladding that would provide it with off-road capabilities. Mercedes would probably fit it with bigger tyres, that would add further distance from the ground.

The engines will be provided by the C-Class sedan and wagon range and to confirm its All-Terrain abilities, the engineers are to equip the new C-Class family member with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

The car would make its official debut in 2021 and it will hit the road (and the off-road) in the beginning of 2022, soon after the new C-Class Sedan would have been presented.
