“Why drive when you can drift?” is the question that accompaniesthe new video teaser showing the future Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC. The prototype sporting a colorful camouflage is testing up north, in Sweden, in extreme temperatures, on ice and snow.

Mercedes-Benz has just revealed the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4MATIC Saloon and it shows that the high-performance premium car maker will not rest on its laurels. The future Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC is undergoing final testing procedures before its official debut.

The head of AMG, Tobias Moers, has already hinted that the future A 45 will get the newly developed eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the new configurable all-wheel drive 4MATIC system. A Drift mode will also be there for maximum plasure behind the steering wheel.

A 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine will put 388 PS onto the asphalt, 421 PS for the S model. Whether the Audi RS3 and the BMW M2 will be caught off guard remains to be seen whent the new hot hatch hits the showrooms next year.

The standard variant of the new A-Class was revealed in February 2018, with an output ranging from 116 PS to 224 PS, with the latter accounted by the top standard model, A 250.
