This Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is the “world’s most powerful,” Renntech claims. And as far as we know, they’re right. But how powerful is it exactly?

We’ll get straight to the point. It’s 1,066 HP-powerful. That would be 1,081 PS for the Europeans. The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series was the company’s most powerful street-legal car, with 730 PS (720 HP), before the S E Performance hit the road. Now it’s the ONE hypercar that ticks that box, at 1,063 PS. Well, Renntech wanted the GT Black Series to be capable of even more than the ONE itself. That’s why they took it straight to a mind-blowing 1,066 HP (1,081 PS) and 831 lb-ft (1,126 Nm) of torque. That is for the R3 upgrade, with the car running on 93 octane pump gas.

The engineers fitted stainless steel downpipes, blow-off valves and BMWC air filters to upgrade the soundtrack as well. For faster downshifts of the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, they came up with a TCU (Transmission Control Unit).

For those who do not need a rocket for public roads, the Florida-based tuning house prepared a tamed version, with 843 HP and 739 lb-ft (1,001 Nm).

The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series was a racecar for the road even before the Renntech tuning experts got their hands on it. It got its racing DNA right from the AMG GT 3 and GT 4.

Renntech added four-point seatbelts for the driver and passenger, a fire extinguisher and a rollbar. The latter can color-match the car if the customer specifies it. The model also got Renntech Track Series forged high-performance aluminum wheels, specifically designed for the AMG GT series. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires do the grip trick.

Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Renntech is a 3-second car

The GT Black Series now needs “3 seconds or less” to get from a standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h). The “fighter jet” goes all the way to 219 mph (352 km/h) if you floor it. “Power arrives like artillery fire,” the Renntech team claims. That’s one hell of an argument to sell this car across the United States, Europe and the Middle East.

The American tuner has quite an impressive portfolio when it comes to the Mercedes sports cars. The AMG GT is the new entry on an already exclusive list that comprises the SLS, the SL and the CLK.
