The Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance is now available for order and it starts at 208,392.80 euros for the European market. What do customers get for the money?

The starting price in Germany is the equivalent of nearly $230,000. That is almost double the amount you would pay for a Mercedes-Maybach S 580 4MATIC, for instance.

The S 63 E Performance is available, at the start of the sales, as the Edition 1. It comes with the AMG-built 4.0-liter V8 and with the AMG high-performance battery pack that provides it with a range of 33 kilometers (20.5 miles). That power mill from under the powerdomed hood sends 802 PS (791 HP) and 1,430 Nm (1,055 lb-ft) of torque to the tarmac and makes the car flash on its way from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds. Top speed goes all the way to 290 km/h (180 mph).

AMG Ride Control+ suspension is standard and so are the AMG Ride Control roll stabilization and active rear-ale steering. The list of standard equipment also includes 20-inch 10-spoke light alloy wheels. Meanwhile, those onboard will enjoy all the perks of the Burmester 3D Surround System with Dolby Atmos.

The Edition 1, available for a limited period of time, gets 21-inch AMG forged wheels (3,808 euros for those who can’t get this version) and seats in AMG Nappa leather with contrasting red stitching and the AMG performance steering wheel. Customers will also have to deal with the AMG Exterior Package. The Edition 1 logo will be on display in the center console.

Future owners who want the AMG carbon package will have to transfer 5,831 euros into the bank accounts of Mercedes-AMG. If they want the AMG-specific darkened radiator grille, they will pay 535 euros more. A panoramic sliding sunroof lets the light in for almost 2,000 euros (1,939.70).

8,925 euros cost the AMG high-performance composite brake system, only available with the 21-inch wheels. The AMG Driver’s Package with the 290-km/h top speed is 2,261 euros.

The Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance will roll off the assembly line of the Sindelfingen plant and will reach first customers in May 2023.
