Eight new cars that are already on sale in Europe were tested at the European crash test safety body. Out of the eight cars, Mercedes-Benz GLA new brand crossover scored top safest vehicle.
According to the Euro NCAP official scores, the GLA received an impressive 96% for occupant safety, 88% for child occupant, 67% for pedestrians and 70% for safety assist.
The passenger compartment remained stable during the impact. Protection was good for all body regions apart from the lower legs where the protection was decent. The GLA scored maximum points regarding the protection of the baby dummy. The GLA-Class has an ‘active’ bonnet for improved head protection, thus the bumper scored decent in all areas for the protection that it offers to pedestrians’ legs.
Mercedes-Benz GLA comes in all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive with 4-cylinder diesel and petrol engines. It is the luxurious compact crossover vehicle designed for competing with Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
