The Mercedes-Benz GLC has been designated the Most Popular Compact Luxury Car at the 2016 Honest John Awards. Comfortable and spacious, it makes a great alternative to the humdrum C-Class saloon that it shares the platform with.
The readers of the British publication were the ones to decide the winner of the category. The editors of Honest John in the UK found that the GLC review page was read more than any other pages displaying information about other compact premium car, saloon or SUV.
“Mercedes-Benz may not have been a latecomer to the crossover party, but the GLC proves that arriving fashionably late can have its benefits. Even more impressive is the fact the GLC review went live mid-way through 2015, yet still managed to outperform other premium models in a shorter space of time”, said Dan Harrison, Editor of HonestJohn.co.uk
The best seller genes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC have added extra popularity to the range, with the Mercedes-Benz SUVs selling like hot cakes all around the world.
Following in the footsteps of the C-Class – as letter C in its designation says – the GLC comes in four engine variants for all the demanding customers to choose from:
- GLC 220 d 4MATIC, diesel, 125 kW (170 HP)
- GLC 250 d 4MATIC, diesel, 150 kW (204 HP)
- GLC 250 4MATIC, petrol, 155 kW (211 HP)
- GLC 350 e 4MATIC, plug-in hybrid,
system output 155+85 kW (211+116 HP)
