Mercedes-Benz Guard stands for luxury and safety, a definition valid for almost a century. It began with the Mercedes-Benz Pullman Saloon in 1928 and with two armoured Model 770 “Grand Mercedes” Pullman Saloons.
They were ordered by the Japanese emperor in 1930. He was only one of the tenths of presidents, crowned heads and world-famous stars that owned a bulletproof Benz.
The Mercedes-Benz Guard models currently provide maximum protection up to Class VR10, meeting the highest protection standards available for civilian vehicles, together with the highest standards in luxury and safety.
Highly engineered, reinforced and glazed, the body parts and windows of the vehicles thus developed make up the saloons that are practically indestructible. The suspensions, brakes, springs and assistance systems are adapted to withstand the additional weight. All thee sophisticated ex works modifications do not have any impact on the luxurious interior, nor the comfort.
The engineers made sure that the saloons remain mobile throughout a possible attack and are capable or fleeing the dangerous area as rapidly as possible. That is why the models are fitted with a high-torque V12 engine that develops 530 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque.
The models may also benefit from special equipment such as the emergency fresh air system, official equipment such as sirens, beacons, radio communication or a panic alarm system.
