A race track full of supercars is the last place we would look for a Mercedes G 63 AMG 6X6. But the owner thought it might be fun for the elephant to join the horse power „ballerinas”, at the Zandvoort circuit in Netherlands.
This is not an usual racer. It costs almost half a million dollars, it’s got 536 HP and a 5.5-liter V8. Sounds like it’s got just the right figures for the race so far. But there’s still something missing. Actually, something extra. Some extra tons, maybe? The behemoth is a bit overweight to be a ballerina like all the madly engined race cars on the track. It weighs 3,8 tons and it is especially manufactured for the toughest off-roads.

The beasty G 63 AMG 6X6 race crasher, with no less than five locking differentials, managed to go fast in straight lines on the race track placed close to the Northern Sea shore. But going into and out of curves seemed so much of a headache for the Arnold Schwartzenegger on 37-inch wheels, with inflating and deflating system aboard. And telling the name of the Austrian born actor is not a hazard. The engined Gulliver was originally designed for the Austrian military forces.
Those giant wheels could just go over obstacles, but not around them. One of the obstacles was the classic 300SL convertible. All that the Mercedes G 63 AMG 6X6 could do was obstructing its rearward vision.

Built to climb sand dunes and defy vertical limits, the Mercedes G 63 AMG 6X6 has a cabin by 11.8 inches (29.97 cm) longer than that of the usual G 63 AMG.
The wheelbase was also stretched by 11.8 inches, but just to the middle axle. All the way to the rear, there are extra 43.3 inches (109.98 cm).
The G has also been stretched in terms of height and width. It is 87 inches (2,20 m) tall and 83 inches (2,10 m) wide.
With five differential locks, a 6-wheel drive and half a meter ground clearance, the G 63 AMG 6X6 also sports a luxurious interior. It shelters four electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated seats, red or light brown exclusive designo leather upholstery, the roof and pillars are covered in Alcantara leather. The top speed is limited down to 160 km/h. The 6X6 Gulliver on wheels is able to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7 seconds.
