The new Smart Forease+ Concept comes accompanied by the “rooflove” hashtag. The concept is based on the smart EQ fortwo cabriolet and it represents the view of the brand for the future electro-mobilty.
It is individual, dynamic and sustainable, smart claims. It features a flat light, yet robust fabric roof that extends far towards the rear, turning the showcar into a cosmopolitan with classic speedster attributes. The roof can be withdrawn by reaching over the two domes on the rear. It moves away in two cut-outs on the rear, thus the “+push” lettering explained.
The Smart Forease+ lacks any form of side windows, ensuring the pure open-air driving experience. It comes with elements that highlight its dynamic nature, such as the spoiler element, a reminiscence of a duck’s tail, the expressively drawn shoulder line and the flat window section. Sporting a sun visor over the short windscreen additionally, the showcar looks lower than it actually is, when looked at from the side.
The headlamps reveal a new light signature, set up by three active LED elements with multi-dimensional design. At the opposite end, the taillights come with a rhombic geometry with LED technology as well.
The interior of the concept proposes a unique appearance with an instrument panel covered in amber-colored nappa leather, just as the contours of the loudspeakers between the front seats, while the illuminated seat belt outlets provide further contrasts. The seats are wrapped in a nappa leather-microfiber combo. The steering wheel emphasizes the playful nature of the model.
Inspired by the smart EQ fortwo cabrio, the new Smart Forease+ Concept is one more step towards the company’s target: offering a full range of electric vehicles only by 2020. The concept will be presented next month at the Geneva Motor Sow.
