Well, it’s no longer a secret: smart has released full UK pricing for its freshly-launched smart fortwo and forfour. The two models will most probably go on sale next year.
So, let’s get down to business. Clients who will opt for the 1.0-liter three cylinder naturally aspirated engine will have to deal with a starting price of £11,125 if they choose a smart fortwo or a starting price of £11,620 if they go for the forfour version. For these amounts of money smart offers a three-cylinder 1.0-litre naturally aspirated engine which delivers 71 hp and 91 Nm.
Clients interested in more power and torque can choose the three-cylinder 0.9-liter turbocherged gasoline engine. This small engine delivers 90 hp and 135 Nm and is available at the moment only in the fortwo, for a price of £11,720. If you are interested in the dual-clutch six-speed automatic gearbox, smart can fix that for an extra £995, but again, only for the fortwo variant.
Regarding equipment, both the fortwo and the forfour are offered in passion, prime and proxy trims. The base passion trim offers eight-spoke 15-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth and automatic climate control.
If you go for the prime trim, you will get five twin-spoke 15-inch black rims, a panoramic glass roof plus leather upholstery and heated seats. The proxy top trim level comes with black 16-inch alloy wheels, a blue and white theme for the interior, sports steering wheel and lane-keeping assist as well as a chrome exhaust tip and rubber-studded alloy pedals.
However, the good stuff is offered only by the Premium and Premium Plus packages which cost £795 and £1,295, respectively. Choose one of these and you get navigation, a heated steering-wheel, ambient lightning, LED headlights and a rearview camera.
