The Mercedes-AMG G63 is one of the three-pointed star models that attract the attention of tuning companies like magnets. Project Kahn could not stay away from the boxy high-performance off-roader. So here is their take on the latest generation.
The Mercedes-AMG G63 got in the hands of British tuner Afzal Kahn and his team. Therefore it ended up covered in carbon-fiber. It received brand-new wheels and a major makeover inside the cabin.
The car also received a new dubbing, now bearing the Carbon Wide Track Edition designation. The package brings the aggressive styling that the model did not actually lack, but looks better with.
There is thus exposed carbon fiber in the front bumper and below the intakes, but also a massive gaping insert in the hood. Project Kahn fitted it with a new radiator grille and a roof shield with integrated LED lights.
The Mercedes-AMG G63 now runs on gigantic 23-inch Kahn Type 57 Monoblock forged wheels with Continental Sport Contact 6 tires. At the rear, there is are new exhaust tips with a diameter of 100 millimeters. The double roof spoiler rounds off the bottleful design.
The model may look like a warlord, but the tuning house did not touch the engine. Therefore the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 still delivers 585 horsepower and a peak torque of 850 Nm. These are the figures the G63 rolled off the assembly line with.
It thus still covers the 0 to 100 km/h run in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h, if the driver ticks the optional AMG Driver’s package.
The car in the photo gallery has only traveled for 645 kilometers (401 miles) and is for sale for $309,188. But if you already own a Mercedes-AMG G63, Project Kahn can operated changes on your own for approximately $20.600 for the carbon bodkit and $3,300 for the LED lights. The 23-inch wheels cost almost $11,000 extra.
Meanwhile, the interior changes come for $3,300 if you want the carbon package. But the carbon steering wheel costs extra $2,750.
