The new Mercedes-Benz GLB is ready for launch. The latest teaser made public by the premium company, is a 25-second video that announces the official reveal for this upcoming week.

The first compact SUV that can function as a spacious family car, as Mercedes-Benz claims it is, the new GLB will be available as a seven-seater. “How many people fit in the GLB?” asks the text in the latest teaser, while the driver and passengers are counted when getting off the car. And the counting would not stop at five, but at seven.

Its compact proportions might not allow grown ups sit comfortably at the back, but children would fit it for sure.

The video-teaser shows that the SUV will feature a panoramic glass roof and roof rails with metal looks, probably as options. An upright radiator grille flanked by squared-off headlights can be guessed from the video shot from above the car, as it is set to mimic the crossover concept shown two months ago. Plastic body cladding and elements that make it resemble the larger GLS SUV will also be found in the future GLB.

When will it arrive in showrooms?

The interior of the SUV will follow in the footsteps of its compact siblings, thus receiving the company’s new infotainment system based on artificial intelligence, the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience), with the top-of-the-range getting the dual 10.25-inch displays.

It will also carry over the engine range from the A- and the B-Class, with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesels of 150 PS and 190 PS, respectively, together with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engines of 190 and 224 PS.

A GLB 35 and possibly a GLB 45, the latter sporting the most powerful four-cylinder engine ever built for a series production model, are set to make their way into the range. The standard GLB 45 wil get 387 PS, while the S model is set to get 421 PS.

Mercedes-Benz is running the last 100 yards with its compact seven-seater. The new Mercedes-Benz GLB will be revealed on the 10th of June in Utah, United States.
