28,523 cars sold and a 3.6% total increase. These are the figures hit by Mercedes-Benz this past July in the United States of America. It was the all-time best July ever for the German premium car maker.

Mercedes-Benz USA flashed right up from 27,526 cars sold in 2015’s July. “We are continuing to see strong momentum build into the third quarter, fueled by the recent launch of three of our dream cars,” said Dietmar Exler, president and CEO of MBUSA. “The S-Class Cabriolet, SL and SLC Roadsters, teamed with strong momentum for the all-new E-Class helped us set a new record for July.”

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class was the company’s pride and joy in July, with 6,304 cars sold, as the E-Class closed in on the mid-size sedan at 5,225 (CLS included). The GLE stays just as close, as 4,412 such SUVs were delivered to their lucky new owners.

The Americans magnetized just as much by the Mercedes-AMG, 1,565 high-performance models, a 68.1% increase from last year’s July (931 cars) were sold last month. AMG goes as high as 12,510 units sold year-to-date (up by 79.3%).

The numbers propel Mercedes-Benz at the top of the luxury segment in the land stretching between the Atlantic and the Pacific. Sales fell 6.5% from a year earlier to 27,890 for Lexus and 4.4% to 25,777 for BMW.
