“She’s a classic beauty, isn’t she?”, Supercar Blondie rhetorically asks about the timeless looks of the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet. The petrolhead Blondie has just got her hands on the concept, revealed by the premium car maker at Pebble Beach in August 2017.

Her only regret is planning to drive a convertible in winter. It is 1o Celsius (33.8o F) and the steering wheel is freezing, while the droptop rolls slowly. She is only allowed to handle it for a couple of minutes, so the presentation must be quick.

Why is it called Vision 6? The answer is as simple as the question. The car measures 6 meters long. The precise dimensions are actually 5700 mm in length, 2100 mm in width and 1340 mm in height.

Inspired by the looks of a luxury yacht, featuring the classic Maybach grille, even though unnecessary for an electric automobile, but used to copy a pinstriped suit, flanked by the extremely narrow headlights, the automobile dressed in Nautical Blue Metallic is fitted with 24-inch wheels with 26 spokes.

Now that’s a company car – Lewis Hamilton is dreaming of the Mercedes-Maybach Vision 6 Cabriolet

With rose gold accents, Chrystal White Nappa leather, classic dials and open-pore wooden floor, the interior of the longest cabriolet ever built resembles the deck of a yacht. But classic details are combined with high tech features, such as the elongated display that stretches all along the dashboard, displaying relevant driving information. The floating, transparent center tunnel visualizes the drive system’s electrical energy flow for the passengers by means of blue fiber optics.

Four electric motors delivering 750 horsepower make the car rush from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 4 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h. The lithium-ion battery provides a range of approximately 200 miles (321 kilometers). In only 5 minutes, the car can charge enough for a range of 60 miles.
