The Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar has been teased again in the most revealing official photo yet and it looks every bit like an insane machinery. Mercedes is going to put the hotly anticipated beast in the spotlight next week, at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Mercedes-AMG Project One is counting the days to its world premiere and cannot contain itself. The powerhouse has shown yet another teaser of the totally insane machinery with Formula One-inspired propulsion. A large roof scoop, massive NACA ducts and air vents will shelter the drivetrain born on the racetrack, made up of a 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine and two electric motors located on the front axle and an energy recovery system. These all take the road-legal beast up to 1,000 horsepower, 750 coming from the combustion engine.
The photo offers a glimpse of the rear that sports a single central exhaust pipe and two smaller ones for the wastegates.
Only days ago, a photo uploaded by the Design department boss Tobias Moers on social media showed a steering wheel quite similar to the one the 3-time world champion Lewis Hamilton handles in his racing car.
Only 275 such motorized devils will see the light of day the year Mercedes-AMG celebrates its 50th anniversary and rumours have it that they have already been sold out. Tag price? Hold on well. It’s 2,275 million Euros ($2,73 million). Not for all of them, silly. Just one! Just one Mercedes-AMG Project One.
