The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS has been exposed way ahead of its debut slated for the Los Angeles Auto Show this upcoming November. It is all thanks to a French forum that published the photos from a brochure that is not even out yet.
No word on how the guys in Worldscoops got their hands on this image treasure, nor about how they found their way online. Yet, before we get down to details, we can’t but notice that the silver and the dark blue model in the photos come with the exact same register plate. How is that even possible?
As the leaked pictures of the luxury vehicle reveal, the full-size GL facelift SUV sports a brand-new 2-louvre front grille with the brand’s star logo shining in the middle, a new set of integrated LED daytime running lights and a new bumper with massive air intakes. At the opposite end, the 2017 GLS brings tailight with 3D design and a reshaped diffuser.
The ordering list will open in December and first GLS models will reach the customers’ garages as soon as early 2016. Rumours claim the engine lineup will be carried over from the current model. Therefore, the top range GLS 63 AMG version will sport the 5.5-liter petrol engine, developing 557 HP (410 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) of torque. The super powerful AMG S variant will come with the 585 HP (430 kW) output and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft). Considering the Mercedes-Benz trend towards green and clean, a Plug-In Hybrid version, badged 500e, will surely be available.
On the inside, new trims, new dashboard and definitely a new infotainment system are expected to show up. Maybe we get to see those, too, by the end of November.
