Dubai-based luxury car dealer F1rst Motors has posted an ad on its website for the sale of a 2024 production Mercedes-AMG One with zero kilometers on board.
Luxury car dealer F1rst Motors in Dubai is publishing an advert for the sale of a Mercedes-AMG One produced in 2024 with zero kilometers on board.
The ad seems odd at first glance because deliveries of Mercedes’ new supercar only started late last year, and so far, only a few of the 275 customers who paid for the car have received it. The clients have stipulated in their contract not to resell the car for some time.
But, in general, such clauses have no legal value under German law, and often, after buying the car, the owner sells it despite having signed the clause to keep it for a period of time.
Like other manufacturers who produce limited series cars, Mercedes tried to put this clause to avoid speculation with these rare models.
The car featured on the F1rst Motors website appears to be photographed in the luxurious showroom of the Dubai-based dealer that handles the sale of very expensive cars. On its website, we find a Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition, Lamborghini Sian Roadster, Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Martini Edition, McLaren Senna, or Ferrari SF90 Spider Assetto Fiorano.
With zero miles on board, this car was probably ordered by a customer who now wants to sell it through the dealer for a substantial price premium. However, no price is published on the dealer’s website as with the other models for sale.
The Mercedes-AMG One has a hybrid powertrain that is based on the Mercedes F1 W06 Hybrid and F1 W07 Hybrid cars that competed in the 2015 and 2016 F1 seasons, respectively, when they won the world title with Lewis Hamilton as driver in 2015 and Nico Rosberg in 2016.
The hybrid system combines a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and four electric motors, developing 1063 ps in total. The launch of the car has been long delayed due to technical issues with idle speed, CO2 emissions, cooling, noise levels, and battery management.
After more than three years of delay, the first deliveries began towards the end of 2023 for 3.27 million euros. Among the owners of the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar are former world champions Lewis Hamilton (he has two examples, one for his father) and Nico Rosberg, as well as former Formula 1 drivers David Coulthard and Valtteri Bottas.
