8. Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG Coupe – 100 units, 2018
The CLK DTM was the Mercedes for people who did not want a Mercedes. Rough, naughty, degenerate. Built to celebrate the CLK DTM’s championship win in 2003 with Bernd Schneider, the Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG Coupe was a limited edition high-performance version of the CLK. Only 100 coupes and 80 cabriolets were built for the European market only, with the coupé version produced for the 2004 model year, and the convertible version made for the 2006 model year.
The basis of the mutation was the Mercedes CLK 55 AMG. The backseat flew out. Under the bonnet ticked the supercharged 5.4 liter V8 taken over from the SL 55 AMG. It delivered 582 HP and 800 Nm to the rear wheels through a five speed automatic gearbox 5G-Tronic Speedshift automatic transmission. Coupled with racing-inspired suspension, the Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG was one of the fastest cars in the world at the moment of its launch with a top speed of 322 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in only 4 seconds.
