Born on the racetrack, living on the racetrack. Mercedes-AMG saw the light of day 50 years ago, as a motorsport division and it kept confirming its purpose for the past half a century. Now, for the first time, a racetrack with the name of the performance brand opens. It is the AMG Speedway in South Korea.

The AMG Speedway is located about 38 kilometers from Gangnam, the trendy district of the capital Seoul. It features a length of 4.3 kilometers, along 17 corners and a bridge, on the grounds of the Everland Resort theme park, a stone’s throw away from Seoul.

It also provides a welcoming space ideal for the community discussions with the AMG experts, for whom the AMG Lounge has been especially designed. The guests will also have access to the pit lane and to the paddock area when the events allow such kind of entries. The AMG Speedway will also host presentations of new models, dealer training and other events.

“The AMG Speedway is the world’s first racetrack bearing our name. This underlines the importance of South Korea as one of our main markets. Customers and fans can experience the essence of our brand here first hand”, says Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

Last year’s reports show that Mercedes-AMG recorded a major double-digit increase and a new sales record in 2017.

The AMG Speedway was built on the South Korea’s first permanent racetrack, that was inaugurated back in 1995. The circuit was given a new layout and it was expended in 2011, in compliance with the plans designed by the famous racetrack designer Hermann Tilke.
