In 2014, DTM celebrated 30 years since it has kept all the fans breathlessly for their favorites. Because of the unique competition, the exclusive competitors and audience, the DTM could only have a crazy, beautiful and spectacular year, especially when it comes to its anniversary – everything in this exceptional video.
Mercedes-Benz is one of most important pieces in the DTM puzzle, together with Audi and BMW. It was not a memorable year, but the Stuttgart “armada” still managed three victories in ten rounds, thanks to the drivers Christian Vietoris, Robert Wickens and Pascal Wehrlein. The last one is, obviously, the most important asset for the constructor led by Toto Wolff (Mercedes-Benz Motorsport chief), because, at only 19 he has become the youngest round winner in history. He is expected to become the main protagonist of the next seasons, whether we talk about DTM or Formula 1; and this is because Wehrlein has already taken part in Formula 1, during a few tests together with the Mercedes F1 team.
Another young talent is Marco Wittmann from BMW, the winner of the 2014 season (four victories in ten rounds), while his team, BMW team RMG, won the DTM team’s title. Audi stood out in the constructor’s ranking even in the last round. Mercedes-Benz has overcome a difficult year, with many issues that appeared along the way, but all the signs are positive and we are expecting much more from 2015. Furthermore, the next season will be a decisive one, on the edge, with new evolutions for the competition cars, with young pilots who are looking to stand out from the crowd, with additional arguments for what is already, the most spectacular touring car championship worldwide.
