The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance was the most powerful and quickest production car in the AMG portfolio. That was until the ONE set wheels on the tarmac. But Brabus thought it was still not enough and decided to extract more from that plug-in hybrid system.
The AMG GT 63 S E Performance was also AMG’s first electrified model. A move that Brabus saw as a challenge. That’s how the Brabus 930 saw the light of day, with 930 being – in the tuner’s typical manner – an indication of the output. It comes with 930 PS (917 HP) and 1,550 Nm (1,143 lb-ft) of torque. When it drove through the gates of the Affalterbach plant, it had around 100 PS (843 PS/831 HP) and 100 Nm less (1,400 Nm/1,033 lb-ft). And it took 2.9 seconds to do the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) run. It only takes 2.8 now.
Brabus decided to electronically limit the top speed at 316 km/h (196 mph) just in case you want to take back the car to your garage wearing the same stock tires: the Continental SportContact 7. But now they wrap up aftermarket wheels. Brabus fitted 21-inch Monoblock Z “Platinum Edition” forged units on the front axle and 22-inch units at the rear. The tuning experts have brought the high-performance sedan 20 millimeters (0.8 inches) closer to the road with a Brabus suspension module, the Airmatic Sport Unit.
The tuners decided to keep it simple in terms of looks on the outside. The painted red two of the black vertical slats of the radiator grille that now supports the Brabus “B” logo instead of the three-pointed star emblem. The “930” indicative shows up on the front fenders and there are, of course, some carbon fiber components.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance got stainless steel exhaust with the “Coming Home” quiet mode.
But things change on board, where there is an eye-catching red-and-black contrasting color combo. There is an Alcantara-covered headliner and black perforated leather with diamond stitching all over.
So how much do you need to pay to take the Brabus 930 home? Brabus asks for €349,000, VAT included. Or much less if you already have your own GT 63 S E Performance.
