Forgiato put the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 4MATIC + up on 24-inch wheels. Nothing strange so far, that’s what they usually do to cars. But the new wheels sport this yellow-and-black finish that eye-catchingly contrasts with the blacked-out body.
Forgiato must have tried to sweeten a bit the ferocious look of the black GLE 53 4MATIC+. Instead, regardless of how solar yellow usually is, they ended up making it look even more frightening. The Los Angeles-based wheel maker partnered up with Dipped Auto Works to get this thing going.
The chrome details have vanished from the body. Either black or yellow ones replaced them. The photos show a black three-pointed star logo at the front and a yellow one on the boot lid. The vertical slats of the radiator grille turned bright yellow as well. There are also custom crossbars on the menu, while a new exhaust design showed up at the rear.
The black paint received a protective ceramic coating. But what draws attention like a magnet on the coupe SUV are the wheels. Not the size as much as the color combo. The spokes sport a matte black finish at the front and yellow on the sides.
There is no photo from inside the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53, but we sure hope it’s got the same color scheme onboard.
No info on any power upgrade either on the SUV coupe with Forgiato wheels. So we could only guess that there is the same 3.0-liter inline-six turbo engine with a mild-hybrid assistance in its stock form under the hood. That power unit delivers 435 PS (429 HP) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque to both axles via the 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission and the company’s 4MATIC four-wheel drive. Those are just enough for a run from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
