Mercedes has released the configurator on the new C-Class in which it appears for the first time how the standard dashboard of the new sedan looks like. Here is the basic Mercedes C-Class.

It is a rule in the automotive industry that when presenting a new model the carmaker  shows the best equipped version with all the options. Many times, however, we are later disappointed of how the basic version looks like.

Mercedes has kept this rule of presenting the top version but this time we can say that we are happy of how the basic version looks like.

In the first official photos we can see the dashboard equipped with all the options that means 12.3-inch display for the instrument cluster and 11.9-inch portrait format for the touchscreen of the MBUX multimedia system.

But how the basic version looks like? First of all, there are no more analog dials and standard version come with a 10.25-inch digital display for the instrument cluster while the basic MBUX multimedia system comes with an 8.9-inch screen.

Because it has a normal format, there is enough room left under the display for dual air conditioning controls that are completely separate. Thus, the ergonomics of the controls is ideal even if some might accuse us of being old-fashioned.

This is the basic configuration you receive for the cheapest Mercedes C 180 which has a price of 41,138.30 euros.

Optionally, the dashboard can be upgraded with three packages:
Infotainment (1,779.05 euros) that comes with MBUX Navigation premium multimedia system and smartphone integration
Advance Infotainment (2,731.05 euros) which adds  the 12.3 inch display for  instrument cluster and the 11.9 inch display for the multimedia system
High-End Infotainment (3,195.15 euros) which offers additionally Augmented Reality for navigation

What else does the basic equipment include?

17 inch alloy wheels, High performance LED headlights, Thermatic automatic climate, interior lights package, driving mode selector, multifunction sports steering wheel as seen in the main photo, active steering assistant, cruise control, emergency braking assistant, central front airbag and MBUX multimedia system with digital radio.

Of course, the 9G-Tronic automatic transmission is standard on the entire range, and all engines have a mild hybrid system with an integrated starter generator of 20 HP.

No rival currently offers a richer standard.
