A new aerodynamic package is now available for the recently revealed Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45. The AMG Aerodynamic Package Plus comes with the only purpose to make the cars look more aggressive and exciting.
It is the AMG Aerodynamics Package Plus that gives the cars a brand-new sportier stance. The kit includes, for a start, a slightly bigger front splitter. There are also optional canards on both sides of the front bumper, in a high-gloss black finish. And last, but not least, there is the fixed rear wing in high-gloss black as well, accompanied by a new trim that slides under the rear air diffuser and under the quad exhaust pipes.
Customers can order the aerodynamic pack for 1,487 euros (approximately 1,700 US dollars). If they also desire the rear wing, probably the most impressive part of the aero kit, the package is available then for 2,737 euros (3,090 US dollars).
Does the aero pack bring more power to the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 and CLA 45?
Mercedes offers the aero pack without providing any performance modifications. They were not necessary, since the cars come with what is the most powerful 4-cylinder engine that ever reached series production. Thus, the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4MATIC comes with the already familiar 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. The power unit delivers 306 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The figures make it accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 4,9 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h.
A bit higher up the range, there is the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 4MATIC+ with the same engine. This time though, the variant benefits from the help of 387 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, running from 0 to 100 km/h in 4,1 seconds.
And then there is the top of the range Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S 4MATIC+. The same engine provides it with 421 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It is, of course, the most potent of them all, rushing from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds precisely and having a top speed of 270 km/h.
