This is so no Hollywood. And what you are about to see are sooo not computer-generated special effects. It’s just probably the most enduring vehicle ever made, doing a slam dunk in the off-road: the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

The father of all SUVs, the almost 4-decades old boxy G is making a huge leap. Literally. The Mercedes G550 makes a slam dunk, rising in the air like a basketball player and landing safely, on all four wheels, putting huge stress on the tires, springs and suspension system. We got used to seeing it in the cities, as a luxury SUV who tops on every other vehicle cruising along the bulevard, but hell, yeah, this car was made for the off-road, so that’s just what it will do! So come on, buckle up!

It looks like an airplane taking off the runway. But the runway of the G is just the off-road. People watching the once in a lifetime jump can’t help breaking out in surprise.

The Mercedes-Benz G550 standardly comes fit with a 5.5 V8 engine, delivering up to 382 HP and 391 lb ft (530 Nm) of torque. The giant runs the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in six seconds. But no matter the impressive figures, please don’t do this at home. Or in the off-road. Or anywhere else.
