Why would you need 705 HP in your Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe? You are right, you don’t need it. But you’ve got to have it anyway! That’s called lust for power and it comes in the shape of the G-Power Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe.
It used to be a hell of a luxury and powerful coupe, now it has turned into a fully-fledged sports car. Officially a BMW tuner, G-Power has ditched the Munich-made cars for a short while, to work on the S63 Coupe. The 5.5-liter biturbo engine of the Mercedes, standardly delivery 585 HP, must have been an irresistible temptation.
How much further can you go from 585 HP? All the way to 705, G-Power confirms, also taking the car’s torque to 1,000 Nm. How did they get the extra 120 HP? They used the Bi-Tronik 5 V1 power module, which is nothing but a plug and play device, fitted between the factory ECU and the engine.
The high-end power kit stays inactive under partial load for extra fuel efficiency, but cuts in when the oil temperature is high enough for it and when the driver pushes the pedal to the metal. In that case, the new sports car hits a top speed of 325 km/h and, running on massive 21-inch G-POWER HURRICANE RR forged wheels, it only takes 3.8 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.
